About

Crazy Bot is a Discord application created by JustasCrazy. The project was started in April 2020, and was originally written in discord.py v1 using prefix commands (such as !insult, an implementation of Duck's insult generator from 2019).

In 2024 this project was rebooted by starting a complete rewrite in discord.py v2, including a migration to Discord's more recently added of slash commands. Lordimass joined the development team and the project was published to a GitHub Repository. This version aims to re-implement fun commands from the prior version and introduce new moderation and economy modules. The rewrite was released to the Reformation Strikes Back Discord server on 17th April 2024.

As of April 2024, the bot has also been running on a Raspberry Pi under the supervision of JustAsCrazy, allowing the bot to run full time where it was previously not possible with the original write of the application. This was paired with the creation of the Crazy Status bot, which has commands to report various statistics about the bot.

2024 Launch

The rewrite was released first to the Crazy Bot official Discord on 17th April 2024, swiftly followed by its release to Reformation Strikes Back with the following message in #announcements from Lordimass:

# Crazy Bot 1.0.0

The next Reformation Project has been released, and it's our very own custom Discord bot from @justascrazy (and myself to some extent)

This bot has lots of fun commands and utilities for you to play around with, so head over to #bot-n-shit and try running its `/helpme` command to see what you can do with it.

As for the future of this project, 1.1.0 is scheduled to include a music system to allow you to once again play music in VC just like we used to be able to back on HavocCraft. Version 1.2.0 is planned to include a full economy system with links to the Minecraft server to reward you for playing and interacting with both the Minecraft and Discord server, so you can fight for a place on the leaderboard and buy random crap from the shop :D

There is also a *wiki page* created for the bot over at [reformation.wiki.gg](https://reformation.wiki.gg/wiki/Crazy_Bot) so you can add content to that page by creating an account over there (or any other page once you've made an account). In addition to this, Crazy Bot has its own support and updates server which you can join [here](https://discord.gg/9gUD2WVR) if you're interested in that.

From myself and @justascrazy, enjoy @everyone!
